Candidates for the Nurse Clinician IIM Non-Holiday position on the Peds Endocrinology Unit must maintain active RN licensure in the state of MD. BSN preferred, AA degree considered. Eighteen months of experience as an RN required.
The Nurse Clinician IIM is responsible for:
The Pediatric Diabetes Nurse will provide diabetes education to pediatric patients and their families in an outpatient setting. The educator will respond to phone calls from parents of newly diagnosed children and adolescents with diabetes as well as providing educational sessions to help bridge the transition from inpatient to outpatient diabetes care. The educator will respond to phone calls to help with sick day management and day to day diabetes issues and will be responsible for the development, Implementation and evaluation of the Pediatric Diabetes Program including intensive diabetes care with insulin pump therapy and new technologies. The educator will collaborate with physicians, nutritionists, psychologists, social workers and other staff members to establish diabetes management plans and ensure continuity of care.
This is a full time position, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) with Type 1 and insulin pump experience preferred but not required.
