The Nurse Clinician (NC) III in the General Medicine Unit, Nelson 6 is required to have three years of related RN acute care experience, current MD RN license, and a BSN. The NCIII is responsible for:
In depth knowledge of the nursing process as well as social, behavioral, biological, and physical sciences. Ability to apply evidenced-based practice, scientific process, and service excellence in accordance with Hopkins protocols. Application of the safety and scientific inquiry process to your skill performance.
Focus on clinical practice, education, and administration/operations. Provide leadership by mentoring and managing others to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that fosters optimal quality patient care. Implements counseling, discipline, and performance management of nursing staff.
Coordinating the total scope of care for a group of patients throughout their unit stay to achieve clinical, financial, and organizational outcomes. Knowledge of current health care environment. Become the accountable authority for decisions regarding patient care with your ability to analyze data, as well as synthesize and summarize information.
Experience with physiologic monitoring of patient care equipment such as defibrillator and glucometer monitor.
General office and communication equipment. Produce routine budget report. Conduct basic cost analysis. Recommend and implement resource utilization. Promoting and identifying quality improvement initiatives (clinical, financial, operational) that are aligned with departmental and organizational safety and operational objectives. Identifying methods to promote cost-effective use of resources. May act in absence of Nurse Manager.
