Baltimore, MD: The Johns Hopkins Hospital

The Oncology Functional Unit Float Nurse Clinican IIM requires a Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing and a minimum of 18 months of acute care Med./Surg. nursing experience. Responsible for coordinating care for a group of patients for a designated time period to achieve clinical and organizational outcomes. Provides direct patient care based on the nursing process and provides direction to other team members to promote excellent care. Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize team performance.

Promotes improvement in unit processes and systems to benefit patient care and achieve unit goals. May act in the absence of the Nurse Clinician (NC) III to oversee daily care for a group of patients, as assigned. Candidates must be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland. Knowledge of nursing process. Social, behavioral and physical knowledge of current health care environment. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality patient care. Ability to work in a fast paced university teaching hospital.

This position is responsible for floating to the all oncology units. Therefore 10% is added to your base rate for providing this flexibility
