Reporting to the Clinical Applications Manager, the Clinical Applications Assistant assists with maintaining the Outpatient Pharmacy computer systems for outpatient pharmacy services provided by outpatient pharmacy staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, employee training, special projects, report generation and analysis, and the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computerized outpatient pharmacy systems. The Clinical Applications Assistant also needs to be able to set priorities and work independently and perform as a pharmacy technician, as needed, under the supervision of an assigned Pharmacy Manager. The Clinical Applications Assistant represents the Clinical Applications Manager in their absence.
Required Licensure: MD State Board of Pharmacy Registration
Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years pharmacy technician experience, preferred.
Working knowledge of pharmaceutical mathematics; computer knowledge for data entry of prescriptions; knowledge of third party plans and how they are processed; knowledge of drug names (generic and brand); knowledge and experience with outpatient pharmacy computer systems and desktop solutions.
