Under the direct supervision of staff pharmacists assists in the processing, preparing, dispensing, and delivering of medication orders. This support includes functions performed in the pharmacy unit dose, intravenous admixture, and bulk stock areas. All work performed will be reviewed, checked, and approved by pharmacists prior to leaving the pharmacy. Innovations improve work procedures and methods and primarily result in some time and cost savings. The job duties affect direct patient care through the completion of tasks which allow others to provide direct care. Work requires internal contacts outside the work group to resolve mutual problems and to collaborate on work procedures. Responsible for ensuring that satisfaction and service with internal contacts is maintained. Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information. Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others.
